2-PHASE Bicycle Art Project, Johnson City, TN
PHASE 1: "Tread on this..." bike art project
11 bike silhouettes 5'w x 3'h produced by 30 artists, creators, and volunteers.
Each work has its own unique visual story.
Bikes have rotated in 19 businesses (November 2015-present)
Bikes are for sale: $500/each (50% proceeds for artist and rest to 2nd phase).
Two bikes have been sold and where 1 bike was retired. The rest of the bikes are currently displayed at various businesses through the City of Johnson City.

Additionally, a fund raiser was created for the City of Johnson City’s public schools. All of the K-12th teachers were invited to participate and lead their art classes in producing a designed art “bicycle” piece using a real and recycled bicycle wheel as a base of their work (see photos below). Six schools participated and where the work was displayed and auctioned during the last YUM-YUM: The Power of the Bite fund raiser. 100% proceeds went to the school’s participating art programs.
PHASE 2: Bicycle-inspired PUBLIC WORK OF ART
A public work of art slated for Veteran's Park - next to South Side Elementary School - located in the culturally diverse Tree Streets Neighborhood in Johnson City, TN. This is Johnson City’s first public work of art in a neighborhood and first kinetic work in the city.
A $14,500 artist fee has been raised for the 3-D Bicycle-Inspired Public Work of Art.
